How to Get to the Goodwood Revival: Your Travel Options Explained

Crownwood Charters compares every practical route to the Goodwood Revival, running 18–20 September 2026. Saturday and 3-day tickets have already sold out, with Friday and Sunday tickets limited, so travel planning matters as much as ticket planning this year.

The Goodwood Estate sits in West Sussex, close to Chichester. Its rural setting means three realistic ways to arrive, each with a different trade-off between cost, comfort, and convenience.

Option 1: Driving your own car

Driving gives you full control over your schedule. You choose when to arrive and when to leave.

Parking is free and opens from 0700 each day, but it's on grass, so it isn't well suited to low-slung cars.

Follow the official event signage rather than your sat-nav on the approach, as some local routes, including the B2146 through South Harting, are closed during the event.

Expect a walk of 15 to 20 minutes from the car park to the entrance, and note that overnight parking isn't permitted. It's worth logging your what3words location when you park, so finding your car again at the end of a long day is one less thing to think about.

After heavy rain, the ground can turn muddy. This is worth factoring in if you're arriving in period dress and heels or leather-soled shoes.

Option 2: Taking public transport

Chichester is the nearest station, roughly 90 minutes from London Victoria on a direct service. A shuttle bus then runs between Chichester Train Station and the event, operating longer hours on Friday and Saturday than on Sunday.

This shuttle isn't included in your ticket. It carries its own cost, with tickets bought on the day, so it's worth budgeting a few extra minutes and a few extra pounds into your plan.

A note for 2026: engineering works on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September will affect some services between London Victoria and Chichester, with rail replacement buses running on part of the route. Direct London Victoria services will still run via Hove and Worthing, though journeys may take longer, and travelling via London Waterloo, changing at Havant, is worth considering as an alternative.

It's a workable option if you're comfortable working around fixed timings and checking your journey before setting off. The trade-off comes at the end of the day, when the queue for the return shuttle can run long, especially once racing finishes on Saturday.

Option 3: Booking a professional chauffeur

A pre-booked chauffeur service removes the logistics from your day entirely. Your driver manages the road closures, the one-way systems, and the timing, so you don't have to.

You're dropped at the event's designated collection point, closer to the entrance than the public car parks. There's no walk across a field, no shuttle queue, and no schedule to work around beyond your own.

The reality of Revival weekend travel

• Driving offers flexibility, but means signed diversions, a grass field to park in, and a 15 to 20 minute walk.
